Welcome!
My name is Vera Dirksen-Pluijlaar and I am a Vocal Teacher, classical singer, conductor
I studied Musical Theater and Classical Singing in the Netherlands. (Bachelor degrees in Vocal Teaching and Chamber Music). Performed in Oratorio, Operetta, Opera, Musical Theater, Vocal and Chamber Music ensembles.
I was a Vocal Teacher at Fontys Academy of the Arts Musical Theater (bachelor courses) and at Factorium Podiumkunsten (performing arts) MusicAllFactory (talented youth) and Musical4U (kids and adults). I make sure to stay in touch with new developments in vocal teaching and aim for fun, healthy and improved singing within all levels.
Now living in New Zealand I teach vocals from my home studio in Kensington Whangarei and am conductor of Whangarei Youth Music Choir and All Tuned Up Male Chorus. Occasionally I perform as a guest soloist (lyric soprano) and with my trio "The Chamber Collective".
You can contact me for anything vocal; individual lessons, workshops, audition training, concert preparation, etc.
